Since 2019, France Education International, operating under the French Ministry of National Education, has authorized FLAM associations in the U.S. to administer the Diplôme d’études en langue française (DELF) exam.

EFGH is an official DELF testing center. EFGH instructors are trained as proctors and examiners and are certified to grade the exams.

The DELF certifies proficiency in French. It provides a way for individuals outside of France to demonstrate their level of French through an internationally recognized diploma. In France, new immigrants take the DELF Prim.
The DELF diploma may also be required for admission to Francophone universities or for immigration to or employment in a Francophone country. There are several levels of the diploma, ranging from A1.1 to C2.

What is the DELF Prim?

The DELF Prim is the first stage of the French as a foreign language diploma, issued by the French Ministry of National Education. It is designed for children studying French at the elementary level and consists of separate diplomas for different levels, each assessing the four language skills:

• Listening
• Reading
• Speaking
• Writing

What is the DELF Junior?

The DELF Junior is structured similarly to the DELF Prim but is designed for high school students. The only difference is the topics covered, which are designed to suit slightly older audiences. The DELF Junior consists of independent diplomas for different levels and each of the four language skills:

• Listening
• Reading
• Speaking
• Writing

EFGH prepares your children

EFGH has chosen to teach its students as if they were preparing for the DELF exam using different teaching methods tailored to each learning level. Our instructors work with an assistant specializing in speaking skills to form small groups, allowing students to practice speaking French.
The DELF exam is open to students who can read and write in French.

Registering for the exam

EFGH is an exam center for its students. Exams are held in April or May. Outside France, registration fees are set by the Department of Cooperation and Cultural Action at the French embassy and the National Commission.
The pedagogical coordinator, in collaboration with the teachers, selects the students who will be presented for the DELF. The parents of the students concerned receive an email in February/March with all the necessary information for the registration.
