What if I want to cancel my registration or withdraw my child?

If you cancel your registration before classes begin in September, you will be refunded your full tuition fee. The registration fee is non-refundable.

Does EFGH cancel classes?

EFGH reserves the right to cancel a class temporarily or permanently.

  • Temporarily: If a teacher cannot teach their class, we will do everything possible to find a replacement. If the school is closed, we will offer a makeup class later.
  • Permanently: We open up new classes based on demand. If there are not enough students for a class or no teacher is available, the class may not be offered.

What is your refund policy?

If your child’s class is canceled due to low enrollment, no more spots appropriate for your child’s skill level, or no teachers are available, all tuition and registration fees will be refunded.
If a class is canceled in the middle of the school year, EFGH will refund tuition pro-rated for the academic year.

What kind of classes do you offer?

EFGH offers French classes to students K-12. Students must be at least four years old on September 1 to be accepted into our classes.
FLAM (Français Langue Maternelle) classes are aimed at children raised in French-speaking families. FLE (Français Langue Étrangère) classes are aimed at children just starting to learn French and being raised in a non-French-speaking family.
Both classes include preparation for the DELF Prim and Junior exams.
EFGH also offers French classes for parents of enrolled students.

When and where are classes held?

All classes are held on Saturday mornings at The Awty International School at 7455 Awty School Lane, Houston, TX 77055. FLAM classes are held from 9 AM to 12 PM, and FLE classes are held from 9 AM to 11 AM.
COVID-19 information: The classes can be offered alternately on campus or online according to the guidance and decisions from the State of Texas and Harris County, the health authorities, and the EFGH administration.

How are classes organized?

Students are evaluated individually after enrollment to determine the appropriate FLE or FLAM class for their speaking, comprehension, reading, writing, and grammar level. Evaluations take place in June and August.
Classes are conducted in French, and our teaching materials are exclusively French.
Classes take place on 28 Saturdays between September and May. They are taught by a teacher and, for kindergarten and elementary level classes, an assistant.

What are my responsibilities as a parent?

Learning a language is a sustained, long-term commitment. Before enrolling your child, we ask that you ensure that you intend to have them attend class regularly for the entire school year.
Support and motivation from the family are essential to student success. When possible, we recommend that you encourage learning by offering your students games, reading material, and movies related to francophone culture and by speaking, playing, reading, and cooking in French as much as possible.
